DESIGN STORY

Some years are remembered with a single sentence rather than trying to recount everything that happened one by one: “What a Year.”

While designing this model, we wanted to capture all the ups and downs, pleasant surprises, and unforgettable moments of the year through a design language that brings a smile to your face. We aimed to create a special model that is as fun as it is collectible, one that evokes the same feeling every time you wear it year after year.

The red corduroy fabric creates a warm and nostalgic atmosphere, while the large "WHAT A YEAR" full-patch embroidery on the front establishes a strong character at the heart of the design. The gold-colored 3D star on the crown symbolizes new beginnings, while the high-relief "WHAT" lettering adds depth and movement to the design.

By combining the star and snowflake embroideries on the velvet surface with the embroidery details on the green visor inspired by festive knit patterns, we have reimagined the classic holiday aesthetic with a modern RustandRich interpretation.

The "NEXT ONE PLEASE" embroidery hidden under the visor is one of the most delightful details of the design. Symbolizing readiness for new stories, new goals, and new beginnings as we leave the past year behind, this small detail completes the fun character of the model.

In designing this model, we aimed not just to create a hat for the holiday season, but a special, collectible piece that can be worn with the same pleasure years later, thanks to its limited production, intricate embroidery, and unique design language. This is why "What a Year" has taken its place in the collection as one of the most characteristic and striking models of the RustandRich Limited Collection.

ABOUT THE PRODUCT

Trucker Hat - Limited Collection - What a Year - Red is a special edition model from the RustandRich Limited Collection that brings the holiday spirit to life with a fun design language. It combines classic holiday colors with a modern twist, featuring a red corduroy front panel, a burgundy mesh back, and a green visor.

The WHAT A YEAR design on the front is a special full-patch application crafted entirely with embroidery techniques. The large star at the top of the emblem is applied using 3D embroidery, while the "WHAT" text is worked in high-density 3D embroidery. The emblem's outlines, the "A YEAR" text, and all other details are completed with multi-layered embroidery.

Star and snowflake embroideries on the velvet front panel add a dynamic look to the model, while the decorative embroidery on the green visor, inspired by holiday knit patterns, reinforces the collection's theme. The RustandRich signature logo emblem is located on the right side of the hat.

The breathable mesh back and adjustable snapback closure easily adapt to different head sizes, providing comfortable all-day wear.

A cotton lining is used on the inner surface that comes into contact with the skin to ensure comfort. RustandRich branded piping, a cotton sweatband, and internal prints exclusive to the Limited Collection are among the premium details that complete the user experience.

The "NEXT ONE PLEASE" detail under the visor is crafted as an embroidery rather than a print, giving the model a unique character that complements the fun spirit of the collection.
